My most recent entry is titled Soar, Baby Bird, a poem inspired by parenting experience and reaching that time in your life where you need to let your "baby" fly from the nest to find their way in life. You become the beacon they will always rely on for guidance. 
I took this photo as I strolled around Leffis Key one morning. It's the inspiration for a story. What do you see? This is one of two inspirations during my morning walk. The other came from sound. I always keep a camera, a notepad, and a couple of pens in my backpack for hikes. You never know what might spark the next story.

The Last LieI have begun work on my first novel, The Last Lie.
After surviving years of physical and mental abuse from an alcoholic father, one man's journey becomes a lifetime struggle to find and keep true love. Fighting the demons of depression and nightmares of the past, Billy gets some shocking news that leads to devising a sudden and potentially catastrophic plot in order to protect his grown children from knowing the life of lies he has lived. The writing is going well. I don't have a completion date. Being my first novel, I want to make sure it's 'done right'. |
